The Pew Research Center reports findings on how teens prefer to stay in touch with their closest friends. The Postal Service working with the Temple University Center for Neural Decision Making conducted a study of people's responses to receiving physical direct mail. The practice used is known as neuromarketing, which can measure physical and neurological activity in great detail to gauge response to external stimuli. This effort follows similar work done in the U.K. by Royal Mail which supported the impact of physical mail. Post and Parcel reports that the USPS has informed the Postal Regulatory Commission it intends to expand its program of delivering groceries directly to consumers. The service, a partnership with Amazon Fresh, has already been piloted in San Francisco, Brooklyn and Philadelphia. It will be offered in Manhattan beginning on or around June 30, 2015. On June 12, the FCC's Open Internet Rule took effect. The mantra, "No Blocking. No Throttling. No Fast Lanes." is now the law of the land. Lois Greisman, Associate Director, FTC’s Division of Marketing Practices, testified before the Senate Special Committee on Aging to describe the FTC's ongoing effort to enforce the Do Not Call Registry and in particular protect senior citizens from annoying if not fraudulent robocalls. U.S. Senators Jon Tester (D-MT) and Heidi Heitkamp (D-ND) have asked the Postal Regulatory Commission to consider ways to preserve the quality of rural mail delivery service.
